CEMEX and FNPI present Journalism Award
In a ceremony presided over by Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez,
President of the Iberian-American New Journalism Foundation (FNPI), and
Lorenzo H. Zambrano, Chairman and CEO of CEMEX, journalists from Latin
America were awarded the CEMEX+FNPI New Journalism Prize for their commitment
to excellence in journalism.

CEMEX and FNPI present Journalism Award
CEMEX and the Iberian-American New Journalism Foundation (FNPI) recognized
outstanding journalists at the second annual CEMEX-FNPI New Journalism
Awards event. Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Nobel laureate and Chairman of FNPI,
and Lorenzo H. Zambrano, Chairman and CEO of CEMEX, presented the awards
for journalistic excellence in four categories: Internet, television,
radio and homage (lifetime achievement).

APEC CEO Summit Mexico 2002
In a ceremony at Los Cabos, Mexico, Lorenzo H. Zambrano, CEMEX CEO & Conference
Chairman, welcomed the delegations from the countries members of the Asia-Pacific
Economic Cooperation (APEC). This meeting brings together not only the
governmental leaders, but also key business leaders from 21 countries
which generate 60% of global income and within whose borders live more
than 2.4 billion consumers.

World Environment Center's Eighteenth Annual WEC Gold Medal
In a formal gala ceremony at the National Building Museum of Washington,
Lorenzo H. Zambrano, CEMEX Chairman and CEO, received the 2002 World Environment
Center Gold Medal for International Corporate Environmental Achievement,
presented by actor and conservationist Harrison Ford.
